Born and raised in Christchurch, James Pomeroy is currently the Chief Executive of Pomeroy Group, a hospitality business advisory, recruitment and staffing agency based in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Leading a small team of in-house industry professionals, Contract Management of a number of notable hospitality organisations as well as managing 100+ temporary staff to be available at a moment’s notice, 24/7, so we can all enjoy the thriving hospitality scene of our spectacular city. James’ areas of speciality within the Advisory space are Human Resources, People & Culture, strategy/governance and professional development. James’ vision is to showcase hospitality as more than just a job, but a professional career choice like any other industry.

James also holds a number of governance roles across the motu within hospitality, youth development, Arts and Central Government.

As a committee member of the Institute of Directors, his continued professional development has allowed him great insight into the many challenges Boards & organisations of all shapes and sizes face in a fast paced, changing environment, with understanding how to apply pragmatic solutions.

It is without a doubt that he has the energy, drive, connectedness and diversity of thought & skill required to be a highly contributing member to the effectiveness and success of Southern Ballet.
